Seven is my lucky number, but at seven months we were not so lucky. As the New Year started and Jack was turning seven months, we experienced a win and a loss.
My husband and I were looking for a neighborhood that we knew Jack could have good schooling, a safe neighborhood, and out of the Hollywood bustle. We closed on a beautiful Townhouse in Studio City. Yup we were moving out of Hollywood. Bitter Sweet. A major loss our family suffered was Toro, our family dog, had taken a turn for the worst, and become sicker. After battling cancer and complications, we had to say good bye to our first Family member on January 9th, 2017. My heart hurts just thinking about it. Jack and multiple dinners with Ryan at a local sushi restaurant got us through the first 48 hrs. but nothing takes this pain away.
The month of January became a bit harder balancing work and travel with Jack. I was entering the worst time for my publicity career- award season. I not only had to work long hours, and felt like I was barely spending quality time with Jack, I had to travel to Sundance for 7 days. This was so hard. Sundance was in Utah, and probably one of the snowiest Sundances I have ever been to. I had one of the most prestigious Sundance clients, ChefDance, so stakes were high, and I needed to concentrate. The only problem was… I had my son on my mind 24/7. Funny little story to the trip, I left a day early to get to Jack, but changed my flight twice in order to get to him. I have to say, I am not sure I can ever be away from him that long for a very long time.
Jack also started a new class in January. He was attending Play in West Hollywood, a fun interactive Music Class. After his first day, Jack got his first cold. This was hard. I turned to my pediatrician and home remedies to get Jack Better. As Jack turned seven he was growing stronger as were his parents.
